DEADLINE: ComSciConCAN conference application
Date and Time
ComSciCon-Can is a series of workshops focused on enhancing the science communication skills of graduate students. The 2020 conference will be held May 26th-28th, 2020 in Ottawa (ON). This three-day meeting will feature invited professional science communicators (e.g. journalists, policy makers, communication officers, etc.), and will train graduate students through writing review sessions, workshops (e.g. science policy, video production), and an e-poster session where participants present their own innovative projects in science outreach and engagement. To provide participants with an opportunity to learn from and pitch their ideas to professional science communicators, this year our meeting will overlap with the Canadian Association for Science Centre’s annual conference, which brings together experts from science museums and centres across the country.
In order to make ComSciConCAN accessible to all graduate students, there is no registration fee for the meeting and we provide food, lodging and travel support to the 50 selected participants from across the country.
If you wish to attend the conference, you must submit an application form by January 19. Note that acceptance to ComSciConCAN is competitive.
