How my Research will Improve Life...
Cure rate or cure fraction can simply be defined as the proportion of the people with a certain disease (e.g., cancer) that are cured by any given treatment (e.g., chemotherapy). My research seeks to identify the most efficient confidence limits for cure rates, which would have practical implications for the medical and public health sectors.
Why I Chose Guelph…
I wanted to study in a university that is highly acclaimed for high academic standards, while still offering a welcoming environment to students with diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. The University of Guelph is a renowned university in North America and is recognized for conducting state of the art research in the various field of studies. Faculty members at my department are well known for their high academic excellence and their contribution to the field of statistics. The high academic standard of the University of Guelph, faculty recognition and area of research all played a great role in choosing this university to pursue my higher education in Canada.
About My Advisor…
In one word… "Superb." My academic advisor is very kind and always tries to help me achieve the high academic excellence.
About the City of Guelph…
I consider the City of Guelph a very family oriented city. When you are out within the community, you will always see happy families or groups of friends enjoying the city. Residents of the City of Guelph seem very happy too. The natural beauty of the City of Guelph also attracts us.
About Campus…
The University of Guelph campus environment is very friendly, secure, and diverse. Being a Muslim student and wearing hijab, I never feel like I cannot practice my religion and culture here. Everyone is very accommodating, and everyone respects each other. I find halal food at University Centre (UC), which I never expected before coming here.
About Financial Support…
My department helped me locate the potential funding/scholarships that I am eligible to apply.
