Individual Development Plan
There are many opportunities for skills development during your grad program or postdoc position. The IDP is a tool that can help you determine what skills you have and what skills you want to develop, making it easier to find workshops best-suited to your needs.
Students have indicated that they support IDPs because they:
- value their advisor’s support to attend skill development opportunities
- want more guided help around career planning for diverse careers
- want personalized professional development plans that are relevant to their needs
All graduate students are encouraged to complete the University's IDP, but it is mandatory for students in some departments. Please consult your department for more information. For more information or to provide feedback on the IDP please email Grad Pathways.
