About the research…

Abdallah's research examines manufacturing and processing of light metals and alloys for the automotive and aerospace industries, with a focus on using fundamental concepts and experimental approaches to solve industry-related problems. His previous research projects have included improving the recyclability of light alloys and reducing the presence of defects that affect material performance.

How the research improves life…

Improved light alloy performance enables their use in more demanding applications in the automotive and aerospace industries. Regardless of vehicle powertrain (internal combustion, electric or fuel cell), reduced vehicle weight with the use of light alloy components increases fuel economy and reduces greenhouse emissions. This leads to a more sustainable transportation industry.
