Advice for Prospective Students...

My advice is to challenge yourself to something new every day and be ready to learn as you go.

Program

MSc. Food Science

Why I Chose Guelph...

I applied to University of Guelph because of its reputation as one of the world's top university for agricultural sciences, and I chose to stay because of my awesome advisor, my project, the food and the friendly people.

How will my work Improve Life...

My project will be one of the first studies examining the use of an advanced ultrasonic image analyzer (Autofom) in a commercial Canadian pork facility for the determination of lean yield. The information obtained is expected to better inform producers about the product they are producing from their management and marketing systems, and if changes are necessary to produce more profitable pigs by minimizing pig carcass variation.

My Future Plans...

I plan to apply for jobs within the meat science industry right after graduation, and I believe that UofG had helped me reach that goal by offering me lots of networking opportunities and necessary work experiences.
