U of G PhD Student Awarded Prestigious Award
Congratulations Rachana Devkota, PhD student in the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD), on winning a prestigious award from Canada's premier global development research agency: the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). The David and Ruth Hopper and Ramesh and Pilar Bhatia Canada Fellowship Recipient is awarded to the top female candidate from among the IDRC Doctoral Research Awardees for 2017.
The $20,000 award supports Rachana's field research project, entitled Gender Transformative Approach to Agriculture Innovation System in Nepal. Rachana's academic advisors are Dr. Helen Hambly (SEDRD) and Dr. Manish Raizada (Plant Agriculture).
"We are thrilled to see Rachana's hard work recognized by this important award. Rachana is poised to be a leader in her field of studies, both in Nepal and Canada," said Dr. Hambly.
