SummerFest on the Green

Kick off your Canada 150 summer celebrations with the University of Guelph at SummerFest on the Green!

SummerFest is on Sunday, June 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Johnston Green. There will be live music, food trucks, beer garden, and so many other activities! Everyone is welcome, and admission is free. Click here for more details.

3MT Winners Announced

Today, 12 graduate students participated in the University of Guelph 3MT competition. All contestants did an amazing job communicating their research in simple (and not too technical) language. We are so very proud of everyone who participated in today's University wide competition but also those who participated in the individual College heats. Congratulations to our winners!

1st Place Winner: Shanthanu Krishna Kumar (MSc Plant Agriculture)

2nd Place Winner: Alicia Dobbs (MSc Animal Biosciences)

New Assistant Vice-President (Graduate Studies) Named

The University of Guelph has appointed Prof. Ben Bradshaw as assistant vice-president (graduate studies). He begins his five-year term Oct. 17.

The announcement was made today by Charlotte Yates, provost and vice-president (academic).

“I look forward to working with Professor Bradshaw to build and enhance our graduate studies office,” she said.

U of G Offers Top Doctoral Prize

The University of Guelph is bringing back its Brock Scholarship for 2016, one of the largest and most prestigious doctoral awards in Canada.

Valued at $120,000, the scholarship covers all educational and living expenses for up to four years of studies.

Recipients are considered outstanding in their field of studies, their research work and their ability to serve as mentors and leaders to other students in doctoral programs.
