Master of Public Health (MPH)

Why I chose Guelph...

I chose the U of G MPH program because it offered a generalized program with opportunities to develop well rounded and comprehensive public health knowledge and skills under the supervision of diverse faculty members specializing in public health sub-fields such as Health Communication, Infectious Diseases, Mental Health, and more. The program's placement within the OVC also provided a unique opportunity to study infectious diseases in more depth and with a One-Health lens.

The work I am doing at U of G...

I am fortunate to have had a phenomenal practicum experience working with Dr. Jennifer McWhirter in the Department of Population Medicine where I was involved in a large research project to modernize public health communication competencies. This opportunity allowed me to advance my research skills tremendously while contributing to important work that will inform and shape the future of communication and communication training within public health in Canada.
