How my Research will Improve Life…
My research will Improve Life by seeking an advanced understanding of ovarian physiology to better characterize reproductive diseases & infertility in both humans & animals.
Why I Chose Guelph…
I chose to complete my graduate studies at the University of Guelph due to the flexibility of the master’s programs in the Biomedical Sciences department. I originally started out as a 1-year course-based Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) student. These students have the opportunity to apply for scholarships and receive funding to continue their graduate studies by transferring to a 2-year MSc thesis. This option was very appealing to me, as I was new to Guelph and starting in the 1-year program would allow me to adjust to life at a new university. It also helped me become well acquainted with my advisor, and then pursue a continuation of my research project if I wished to do so. I really enjoyed being a graduate student at UoG, so when I applied for scholarships and received funding, I chose to transfer into the MSc program and continue my research in a field that I am very passionate about.
Being a Graduate Student at Guelph…
Being a graduate student at the University of Guelph is great! Guelph gives you the freedom to purse research that you are passionate about, and the faculty and staff are incredibly supportive and kind. Guelph is a great place to build lasting friendships and relationships with fellow graduate students and faculty.
My Future Plans…
After graduation, I hope to pursue further education in both research and medicine in order to achieve my goal of working as a medical researcher in reproductive biotechnology. Guelph has given me the opportunity to enhance my background in reproductive biology through a variety of graduate courses, as well as provide unique opportunities to learn technical skills in assisted reproduction in the Reproductive Health and Biotechnology Lab at OVC.
