Why I Chose Guelph…

The department! I knew I wanted to complete my graduate studies in nutrition, which is what drew me to Guelph. Then finding out what type of research my advisor did, and the people I met before I was even a part of the department, is what closed the deal!

About the City of Guelph…

There are almost too many great things about Guelph to write out! In general, it is a bigger city with a small town feel, with a downtown filled with little cafes and shops! Guelph has a ton of walking trails and opportunities to get outside, whether its canoeing on speed rive or just going for a walk! Moreover, my personal favourite… the sports and volunteer opportunities! I was able to get involved in recreational leagues and community organizations that aligned with my interests both in and out of academics!

Being a Graduate Student at Guelph…

Words that come to mind: busy and exciting. The University of Guelph has so many opportunities to expand not only your research experience, but your graduate studies experience as well. I took advantage of the opportunities I was given, and met some wonderful people along the way. I continued to grow as both a researcher and an individual.

My Future Plans…

I plan to start the B. A. Sc in Applied Human Nutrition program here at the University to become a dietitian! It was through my volunteer work at the Health and Performance Centre on campus that I discovered that career path.

About Campus…

The best part… The amount of sources of coffee... In addition, of course, all of the opportunities to get involved!
