Advice for Prospective Grad Students...

If I could give advice to a prospective grad student, it would be to never be afraid to say "I don't know".

Why did you choose to complete your graduate studies in your program at the University of Guelph?

I choose to complete my graduate studies at the University of Guelph, because of the amazing experience I had during my undergraduate degree here at Guelph.

A bit about the work I am doing here...

I was drawn to my field of study, through an undergraduate project. I had a great experience during this project which led me to continue my research during my master's in the same lab group.

How will your work Improve Life?

I have had the opportunity to study computational chemistry in the field of green energy and specifically catalyst design. Although the scope of my particular research is narrow, being in the overall field trying to optimize green energy in an effort to reduce fossil fuel usage could have a large global impact.

About my advisor...

My academic relationship with my advisor has been excellent, she has always been there with new ideas to try when I am having struggles with research as well as answering any questions I may have in my field.

What do you like best about the U of G campus?

The best part of the University of Guelph campus is how beautiful the campus is. The arboretum also allows a place to connect with nature and take your mind off of any pressing issues one may have.
