About my research…
Climate resilient land-use systems, such as agroforestry, are being promoted globally. In Canada, temperate agroforestry systems (windbreaks, tree-based farming, riparian buffers, silvopastoral and forest farming) can contribute to Canada's climate change mitigation strategies by contributing towards: 1. GHG mitigation, 2. adaptation, and 3. reduced climate vulnerability in agricultural systems.
How my research improves life…
Agroforestry land-use systems, especially in sub-Saharan African countries and other developing countries, significantly contribute to income and food security under changing climates. In Canada, this land-use system contributes to environmental sustainability and thereby improves life.
