Professor Gary Grewal

Professor Gary Grewal

“My general research interests are interdisciplinary, and straddle the disciplines of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Currently, I have particular interest in developing algorithmic solutions to optimization problems that arise in both FPGA and VLSI design flows. My other active areas of research include using multicore, reconfigurable-computing platforms in the form of FPGAs and Graphics-Processing Units (GPU) to accelerate meta-heuristics, data-mining and machine-learning algorithms.”

Professor Karen Gordon

Professor Karen Gordon

“Investigation of the biomechanics of soft tissues related to osteoarthritis progression.”

Program: Engineering MASc, MEng, PhD, GDip.

Professor Paul Garrett

Professor Paul Garrett

“My research is in the area of nuclear physics, using the atomic nucleus as a laboratory to understand the fundamental forces of nature, the origins of the elements in the Universe, and how simple patterns emerge from complex systems.”

Program: Physics MSc, PhD

Professor Alan Filewod

Professor Alan Filewod

“I specialize in Canadian theatre history, with a focus on the history of radical political intervention theatre. My secondary field at the moment is reenactment culture and "warplay".”

Dr. Mark J. Fenske

“Cognitive-affective Neuroscience: My lab combines measures of human behaviour with brain imaging techniques, such as functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), to examine the cognitive and neural mechanisms of visual recognition and affective response, and how they are influenced by attention, emotion, and our previous experience with the world.”

Dr. John Devlin

Dr. John Devlin

“My primary current research in on public participation in environmental impact assessment. Additional research areas include environmental governance; agricultural policy, state-society relations; and rural social movements. All my work is comparative involving both Canadian and international cases.”
